HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

Spring, like Autumn, is a time to celebrate the symmetry of life; the equal balance between night and day. The Spring Equinox and the various Gods and Goddesses of the season often represent harmony, fertility, and renewal. Easter itself, a holiday centered on rebirth, comes from the name Eostre, the Germanic Goddess of the Dawn, and it is observed on the Sunday after the first full moon after the Equinox. At CULT we are celebrating Spring by releasing our seasonal fragrance called Ostara, which is the Anglo-Saxon name for Eostre and the name of the Pagan ritual performed on the Equinox. Apricot is at the heart of this scent as it is one of the first fruits to bloom in early Spring, hailing the coming of the season, but it is grounded by an earthy Sandalwood base and tempered with a bite of lemon peel on the nose that ensures it never skews too sweet. As always , moderation in all things.

It is human nature to seek stability; our very bodies in constant pursuit of homeostasis. When even one aspect of our life feels out of control it can sent us spinning. This was a Winter full of uncertainty for my family; jobs, housing, health; all in flux. It felt like I was buried beneath the earth and the weight pressed in on me from all sides. But change is constant and here we are, the worst behind us, and it feels like once again we are finally waking up after a long, dark sleep.

Balance is a point within every structure that is temporary because creative movement is fluid and potential is limitless.

As with any dark time, the transition out is not always easy. It can be disorienting to step into the light and we are often still fearful and untrusting. Like a flower pushing it's way through the soil, it takes work to open ourselves up again. I remind myself in these times that there is order to the Universe, there are vast cosmic forces beyond my control or understanding and that if I trust in that order, and in myself, I can find the path forward. Sometimes we fight against ourselves; we don't want to take the path offered and we try to force things that are not meant to be. Sometimes we ignore what is right in front of us because it doesn't look the way we thought it would. Our own expectations are often our worst enemy. But if we are open, if we are willing, and at peace with ourselves, the road will rise up to meet us. Our thoughts become our actions become our reality. In other words, whatever you're looking for, you will find. If we pursue opportunities, they will present themselves to us. If we seek out the good in this world, it will be revealed. If we plant our seeds in rich soil, we will watch as the Earth brings forth life once again.
